Thanks to those of you who gave suggestions about how to get out of a workout slump!
I went to spin class this morning!! It reminded me how good I feel afterward and how much better I feel about myself when my body (and mind) are fit and healthy. I want to go to the gym again tomorrow morning. I’m still not sure how working out will play out during the week, but all I can do is my best.
I also decided that it might help if I have some kind of goal. Working out has been important to me for many years, but for the past year, I had a specific goal: feeling fabulous on my wedding day (with arms that were not flabby). Now that I don’t have that goal, I need a new one. I would like to lose a little weight (I do have a specific number in mind), and commit to going to the gym 3-5 days a week. 5 is definitely on the high end, but I feel like there should always be a “reach.” I think the only way for me to reach my goal on a weekly basis is to get up at the butt crack of dawn 3 days a week to be at the gym by 6. Ugh, I cringe even just typing that. I have gone to a few early morning spin classes before and actually really enjoyed them, so maybe it wont be as hard to workout that early as I think.
Last night we went to one of our favorite local restaurants with some friends. It was PACKED! We waited for nearly an hour and half for a table. So we waited, me with a Pino Grigio and Jeremy with one of the restaurants own brews. Dinner was SO GOOD! I got a mesculun salad with a side order of sweet potato fries (because it is absolutely impossible for me to refrain from ordering them anytime I see them on a menu). Jeremy got a burder and fries. We had a great time having dinner and before we knew it, it was 11:15 and we were still at the restaurant just chatting.
My day started out with a lovely bowl of pumpkin oats with some agave, and yogurt before running to spin. After spin I came home, showered, and headed into the office to do some projects for school. I work much better away from the distractions of home, so I go into work.
OH, and it’s snowing again!
Then I went grocery shopping and bought lots of goodies! Including:
Oh I know pineapples are not in season, but they were on sale (which is kind of weird since they are out of season) but they are my favorite fruit, and I couldn’t say no
Then I made granola bars to take with me to school this week for snacks between classes.
We got oats, sesame seeds, ground flax, and dried cranberries. Oh, and eventually mini chocolate chips.
Oh and here is the less glamorous part of cooking/baking. But, if I’m being honest… I actually kind of enjoy doing dishes. Shh, dont tell Jeremy my secret 🙂
They’re all ready for school this week!
Tonight we are having leftovers before heading to my brother and sister-in-law’s place for a movie night!
